Badge of Honor Fall Membership kicks off with free Timbers tickets and Cub Scout Tug o War Aug. 26th
In celebration of the Fall Badge of Honor Membership campaign and the one night for Scouting Sept. 19th, join us Aug. 26th at 6 p.m. as the Timbers reserves take on San Jose’s reserves at Jeld Wen Field. The night will be a showcase of Scouting, highlighted by a Cub Scout tug o war event at halftime. Eighty Cub Scouts, 40 from the Portland Metro area and 40 from the outlying areas, will battle it out in an unprecedented show of force. There will also be Badge of Honor Scouting videos on the video board and information on how to find your neighborhood pack’s Sept. 19th recruiting event for those in attendance.
Tickets are free for the first 750 requests, and tickets will be available to pick up either at the Salem, Portland or Longview offices after Aug. 9th. Please request only those tickets for which you actually have commitments to minimize unused tickets.
To simplify distribution, please RSVP as a pack to firstname.lastname@example.org or through your district executive with # of tickets.
If you would like to be considered for the on-field tug o war, let us know how many of your cubs you can bring. Final decisions on tug o war participants will be made by Aug. 16th.
Also, the Badge of Honor fall campaign will be making several stops at local county fairs, including ClarkCounty, Tillamook, Washington, Clackamas and the entire run of the Oregon State Fair. Volunteers will be on hand with activities for fairgoers and instructions on how to join Scouting to supplement existing pack recruiting campaigns.
The campaign highlight is the one night Badge of Honor join scouting night Sept. 19th. Each school or community in Cascade Pacific Council’s 18 Counties will have a location for local families to register for Scouting. Once the night is complete, site coordinators and volunteers will take the completed applications and checks to their district’s command center to submit. On Sept. 20th, we will provide a complete report to the Council on how many new Scout applications were received in the campaign. Troops, teams and crews can also take part in this campaign and capitalize on the buzz of marketing surrounding the event.
