Invention X Challenge

WHAT: The Oregon Museum of Science and Industry is hosting an Invention Experience program for students in 4th to 12th grades and their families. Come and learn the 5 step process of invention and test your skills in the closing Invention Pitch Competition for a chance to win prizes and recognition as Invention Ambassadors! Dinner and raffle prizes provided.

WHEN: May 20th, 2013 (5pm, 5:30pm, or 6pm program start times)

WHO: 4th to 12th grade students and their families.

Join OMSI and the InventionX team as we guide students through the dynamic process of invention. The exhibits and displays at OMSI will provide an amazing set of inspiration for our inventions! The Invention Challenges posed to students in this workshop will be:

  • Invent a “green machine” that will save the earth’s resources to help protect against climate change.
  • Invent a tool or device to help someone with special needs.
Students will have the chance to choose their challenge, and be guided through the 5 step InventionX process to create their own solutions. Start times are available at 5pm and 6pm. Time to complete the workshop typically takes between 2 and 3 hours including the final invention Pitch stage when students can win raffle prizes from the museum gift shop and join the online group of Invention Ambassadors for more exciting opportunities!   Click here to sign up.
