The Cascade Pacific Council is honored to offer a unique pilot program that will assist our Scouts take the ‘fast track’ in achieving their “Composite Materials Merit Badge” by building two canoes and paddles that will ultimately be donated to one of our camps. Professionals working in the composite industry and members of local professional societies and associations have stepped forward in agreement to help 50 Scouts in the Cascade Pacific Council earn this unique Merit Badge.
In partnership with Miles Fiberglass & Composites and other partnering organizations we are proud to offer this opportunity. There will be 1 group of 50 Scouts that will work for 2 sessions to earn their Composite Materials merit badge. On Saturday May 3rd and Sunday, May 4th, from 8AM – noon. Beyond the $ 15.00 fee for each Scout to register for this program, all of the materials for the projects the Scouts will built are being donated by companies and associations to help our Scouts achieve this merit badge. Only the first 50 Scouts who register for this activity will be accepted into this program.
Parents are welcome to sign up and attend with the Scouts; There are two things we will ask of parents:
1. We hope you will jump in and help as needed.
2. Remember that this event is for the boys.
