Are you looking for something fun to do then end of June?
Ft. Clatsop District Day Camp is looking for a few more staff members…both youth (14 and older) and adult. These are volunteer positions. Adult staff benefit from helping guide today’s youth into the strong leaders of tomorrow. Youth staff will be able to hone leadership skills they have learned in Scouts and School. Scout youth may have advancement opportunities while at camp and non Scout youth can use service hours toward Pacifica Projects. Volunteer work looks great on a resume.
Camp will be held at Camp Rilea June 20-26, with Sunday June 21st as a day off. There will be a local training in Warrenton the evening of June 11th.
All staff, both youth and adult must take Youth Protection Training, available online at http://www.myscouting.scouting.org. Youth staff must also take Den Chief Training,, also available at http://www.myscouting.scouting.org.
Camp staff applications can be found at http://www.cpcbsa.org/camping/camp-staff-jobs/camp-staff-portal

Ft. Clatsop District is looking for quality youth (both scout and non scout youth) and adults to staff our annual day camp this June.
Camp will be held at Camp Rilea June 20th-26th, 2017 (with no camp on Sunday June 21st).
All staff must take Youth Protection Training, available online at http://www.myscouting.org.
Adults will be asked to attend a staff training meeting the evening of June 11th in Astoria.
Youth will be asked to attend a Den Chief training to be held in Astoria on Saturday May, 30th. Age requirements are as follows…
- Youth staff must be at least 14 years old
- Boy Scouts under the age of 14 may volunteer to help at day camp if under the direct supervision of a parent, guardian, or Boy Scout troop leader. However, they are not considered staff.
Staffing at camp is a great way to utilize those leadership skills youth have been learning on their journey through scouting. Time volunteered at camp may also be counted toward Pacifica projects for non-scout youth.
Order of the Arrow members (both adult and youth) who staff at camp are eligible for the “Camp Staff” OA pocket flap.

Cub Scout Beltloop Days at Microsoft
We have all kinds of improvements lined up for Lewis, thanks to a couple of grants and donations. All that is needed now is your help to volunteer on site. Several camp committee members and district volunteers helped identify the areas of need and determined which project would have the greatest impact on the Scouts using our camp.
Some of the tasks requiring heavy equipment have already been completed, and now we need volunteer labor to help finish the job. Please contact Ranger, Bill Hood (Bill.Hood@Scouting.org, phone: 503-658-7077) to organize a work party, detailed project plans, or for additional information. In order to accomplish all of this, Bill and the camp committee have scheduled work days for the first Saturday of every month through June. Call ahead to arrange a project. If you are available other days, we can work with you to have materials available. Click here for a full list of projects.
