Seaside’s Troop 642 to Recycle Christmas Trees

Seaside’s Boy Scout Troop 642 is once again partnering with the Necanicum Watershed Council to recycle Christmas Trees. Your trees will be re-used in local rivers as fish habitats.

Trees may be droppped off at the Outlet Mall or Columbia Bank in Cannon Beach. Or you can call 503-717-9563 to have your tree picked up.

Dates and times are
January 2nd and January 3rd from 9am-4pm

Suggested donation of $5 for drop off and $8 for pick up.

Trees may not be flocked and should have no tinsel, wire or ornaments.

Garlands and wreaths will also be accepted if they are all natural materials.

Seaside Troop 642 to Wrap Gifts at Fred Meyer

Seaside’s Boy Scout Troop 642 will be wrapping gifts at the Warrenton Fred Meyer next week.

They will be available at the following times

December 19-23 from noon – 8pm

December 24th from 10am – 3pm

They will be accepting donations to be used toward summer camp fees and supplies. It’s a great opportunity to support local youth…and there is the added benefit of not having to purchase and store all that wrapping paper.

2015 Popcorn Sale KICK OFF for Scouts

Sunday, August 30, 11:30 am -2:00 pm. Join us for the huge Council Kick Off at Oaks Amusement Park, located at 7805 SE Oaks Park Way, in Portland. 11:30 am – 2:00 pm.
There will be a bunch of popcorn information, prizes and a BBQ lunch, then you can go have fun on rides! Check in at The Pavilion. Be sure to wear your Scout uniform!


Admission Fees:

$10 per popcorn Scout for lunch BBQ plus ride bracelet
$20 per person for lunch BBQ plus ride bracelet $5 per person for lunch BBQ only   Please purchase your tickets online at www.cpcbsa.org/popcorn

Seaside’s Troop 642 Recycles Christmas Trees and Fish Get New Habitats

Over the weekend Seaside’s Troop 642 collected 108 trees. They had collection sites in Seaside and Cannon Beach.

The Troop partnered again with Necanicum Watershed for this annual event. Once collected the trees were taking to The Mill Pond off Avenue S in Seaside. Those trees  are now fish habitats.

Troop 642 received a little help from a few Webelos from Pack 540 who were working on their World Conservation Badge.

Come out and help support our local United Way….and in turn support scouting in Ft. Clatsop District scouting.

Doors open at 5pm for reserved seating, 6pm for general seating.

Sample food from several local restaurants. Bid on some great items in the silent auction. You can even bid on the last spot as a judge for the competition.
