I am sending this “plea” to you! John Doran – District Day Camp Onsite Coordinator – needs help with staff for Day Camp.
The Dates are June 25 (set up) and then June 27 – July 1.
I know that 1 troop is going to camp during that time.
This year they will be firm re: age of staff.
The boy/girl needs to be 14 years of age by June 25.

The next National Jamboree is right around the corner. It’s the perfect time to get more information and get signed up.
There will be an informational meeting in Ft. Clatsop District on Thursday, April 28th at 7pm. The location is yet to be determined.
Come meet Jack Branch, Cascade Pacific Council’s National Jamboree Chairman. Jack has also been the past scoutmaster of the Longview/Ft. Clatsop Jamboree Troop.
Any youth or adults interested in attending the 2017 National Jamboree should plan to attend. Youth should bring a parent with them.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED AT SGT. GOODDING MEMORIAL SERVICE.
Providence Seaside Hospital is assisting with volunteer coordination for this Friday’s memorial service for Sgt. Jason Goodding, and they are looking for additional help as family members, friends and the community pay their last respects.
Friday, February 12 – Memorial Service
Approximately 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Seaside Convention Center, 415 First Avenue, Seaside
Deadline: Volunteers must sign up by Wednesday, Feb. 10 at noon, in order to have enough time to arrange volunteer placement.

Discovery Channel Seeks Families For Survival TV Show
Think your family has what it takes to survive in the most remote places on earth? Ready to heroically battle the elements as you find water, forage for food, and build shelter?
From the creators of the Emmy Nominated Discovery series “Naked and Afraid” comes a brand new survival show for families.
Families will be clothed as they embark on the adventure of a lifetime to an international destination. They will work together conquering storms, starvation, predators and prey in their quest to survive.
Participating family members must be 18 or older. Families can be compact and nuclear, blended and extended, and may include grandparents, parents, children, partners, aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.

Seaside’s Boy Scout Troop 642 is once again partnering with the Necanicum Watershed Council to recycle Christmas Trees. Your trees will be re-used in local rivers as fish habitats.
Trees may be droppped off at the Outlet Mall or Columbia Bank in Cannon Beach. Or you can call 503-717-9563 to have your tree picked up.
Dates and times are
January 2nd and January 3rd from 9am-4pm
Suggested donation of $5 for drop off and $8 for pick up.
Trees may not be flocked and should have no tinsel, wire or ornaments.
Garlands and wreaths will also be accepted if they are all natural materials.
Seaside’s Boy Scout Troop 642 will be wrapping gifts at the Warrenton Fred Meyer next week.
They will be available at the following times
December 19-23 from noon – 8pm
December 24th from 10am – 3pm
They will be accepting donations to be used toward summer camp fees and supplies. It’s a great opportunity to support local youth…and there is the added benefit of not having to purchase and store all that wrapping paper.
