Cub Scout Beltloop Days at Microsoft

Cub Scout Beltloop Days at Microsoft

We have all kinds of improvements lined up for Lewis, thanks to a couple of grants and donations.  All that is needed now is your help to volunteer on site.  Several camp committee members and district volunteers helped identify the areas of need and determined which project would have the greatest impact on the Scouts using our camp.
Some of the tasks requiring heavy equipment have already been completed, and now we need volunteer labor to help finish the job.  Please contact Ranger, Bill Hood (Bill.Hood@Scouting.org, phone: 503-658-7077) to organize a work party, detailed project plans, or for additional information. In order to accomplish all of this, Bill and the camp committee have scheduled work days for the first Saturday of every month through June.  Call ahead to arrange a project.  If you are available other days, we can work with you to have materials available.  Click here for a full list of projects.

Scouting Radical Robots event is open for registration all ages! Limited space!

A message from Jeff Aradine, STEM Education Director…

This morning I announced on the council’s Facebook page that a new event is open.  On Saturday, December 20th at the Intel Jones Farm Conference Center we are hosting Radical Robots along with Mad Science.  This is a fun 3 hour event where Scouts will get to build and take home a robot.

Bring All Scouts, all ages, siblings, and friends to a morning of fast-paced, engaging science. Scouts will learn about and operate several types of robots, play robot games and every scout will build their own robot that they get to take home!  Participation fee is $23 with an additional $15 materials fee which includes a robot that each Scout will complete and take home!   (Total cost is $38)  (Robot Kit is a $21.95 value!)

I put up the announcement 2 hours ago and already 10 Scouts are signed up.  Make sure to pass the word along because space is limited to 175 Scouts.  Here’s a link to the video that you can pass on:https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10152833431704557&set=vb.6916134556&type=2&theater&notif_t=like

Thanks,

Jeff
